The amazing road to becoming “The Smooth1”

Born and raised in The South Bronx in New York City Mr. Smith’s journey has been nothing less than mind-blowing. With a jazz pianist father and a mother who also played piano he was destined to do something in music.

Around the age of seventeen Carl started playing keyboards in local bands. In no time he and his friend Kevin Fulton set out to pursue a music career that led them to producing acts for Clarence Music Records where the release of his single “Come Back Lover” was launched.

He played for some amazing performers such as Bobby Harris, Candy Bowman, Jeff Foxx That Rocked The Box, Princess, Sarah Dash, Right Combination, Leon and The Peoples and a host of others.

He was a member of the band Questarr who’s single “She Got You Going Down” was released on Disconet Records. Questarr became the touring band for New Edition. He also played keyboard for Bobby Brown and later joined “Final Mix”; a four man vocal group who’s CD “The Lovezone” was released on Br-roma Records.

He founded CTS Productions, It’s My Turn Publishers and PlayDees Records where his single “Babe Be Mine” and CDs, “Smooth Romance” and “This Is Me”, was released.

Carl T became the co-host of the popular college radio show call “The Lovezone” on WHCR. He also had a segment on Adelphi’s WBAU with JD Walker The Night Stalker highlighting independent artist. He then launched TSO Radio whose slogan is “Independent Music All The Time”.

You might find him working with a few sound companies providing staging, lighting and sound for events, producing and record artist, performing more, produce independent artist events that would hopefully grow into tours and writing music for TV and Movies.

Let’s see how it goes.
Wish him luck!
